How times have changed. Tesla proved that fully electric cars didn’t need to be slow, and the Porsche 918, McLaren P1 and LaFerrari made hybrid ownership super sexy and exciting.
These days, it seems that a new car company comes out each month claiming they have created a new green supercar that will change the world. These random carmakers were out in full force at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which should basically just be called The Supercar Show. Here are the Top 5 most obscure and mega powerful green supercars that just debuted.
This electric supercar just debuted and will apparently be put into production, even if it looks like a concept. Called the Techrules Ren, this supercar is the first production car ever from the Chinese automotive R&D company. The Ren apparently features the company’s proprietary Turbine Recharging Electric Vehicle (TREV) technology, which is used like a range extender/generator to recharge the car’s batteries. The car somehow outputs 1,287 horsepower and get 727 miles (1,170 km) of range from 80 liters of fuel.
